Coastal EMS was founded in 2010 as a division of MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service, one of Georgia's largest and most respected ambulance service providers. The company set out to design a medical transportation system to meet the emergency and non-emergency medical transportation needs of communities along the coast of Georgia by providing win-win solutions to local healthcare facilities. We began by partnering with a few local facilities and promised to provide the most-appropriate, cost-effective modes of transportation based on the needs of the patient. We also hired local professionals with experience and a true passion for providing excellence in patient care and customer service. A mission that continues to play a part in every decision we make.

We provide a full line of medical transportation services and a high quality continuum of care for patients requiring movement from one healthcare facility to another. All of our medics have passed comprehensive pre-employment screenings, an in-depth orientation and training program, and a driver training program. This training enables our medics to  deliver the industries' highest quality of care according to the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services. Furthermore, all of our medics have experience providing Emergency 9-1-1 response and our vehicles carry the most clinically sophisticated, state-of-the-art, equipment, qualifying us to assist the local 9-1-1 provider with mutual aid if needed. We also have a specialty care transport team capable of moving patients in critical conditions. Our bariatric transport unit is designed to transfer large patients weighing over 500 lbs. and is equipped with specialized equipment to ensure the safety of the patient and the crew while allowing the patient to maintain their dignity.
Coastal EMS is the only provider in the region, one of only four in the state of Georgia, to receive the highly respected accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Service (CAAS). We are currently members of the Savannah Chamber of Commerce, the Savannah Safe Kids Coalition, the Georgia Region 9 EMSC for Children Council, the Georgia Surge Workgroup, and the Georgia Evacuation Workgroup.
We are proud to serve the citizens of Georgia and South Carolina, proud of our employees, proud of the progress we are making toward our pursuit of Excellence in Patient Care and Customer Service. As we keep our eye on the future of healthcare in America, we will continue to be actively involved in our industry and position our company to be an economically viable solution to the medical transportation needs of our communities.
